The Baja 250 is  part of Score International race series in Baja Mexico. The race is usually held during the second or third weekend of March. The course has not changed much over the years.
It is known to be one of the toughest off road races  in north America due to the unforgiving terrain of San Felipe desert where the race starts and ends  after a 250 miles (410Km) loop with the time limit of 10 hours.

The next Baja 250 will be a turning point for MKR team. After 2 seasons of racing and 3 years of exploring Baja with other great riders, we decided to go PRO. Experienced riders are welcome to come and qualify to ride in this class, you will be required to show above average riding skill and be able to maintain above ... mph average speed on the race course. Riders in this class will not be required to bare any expenses, instead they will be paid according to budget permit and the final results.

MKR will continue to support novice racers to experience the adrenaline rush and joy of racing through the Sportsman class, read the Q&A below.

To qualify for the Prp class or the Sportsman class, you will have to contact us and arrange a trip down to Baja, will go riding together and make the decision.
Our boot camp tarts March 1st in San Felipe, and will take  you through 10 adrenaline-filled
days to prepare you for the race on March 10th. During this period, you will train on the actual race course on your own bike or one provided to you for a small additional charge. Mobile Kay Racing will be providing a bike the day of the race. Transportation and accommodation will be arranged. Limited spaces are available for this once-in-a-

Frequently asked questions

If you have any additional questions please email us directly and we will respond promptly.

Q: How do we do it?
A:By utilizing the Baja race rules to use more than one rider on a motorcycle for the race which gives people like you a chance to experience the adrenaline rush and the joy of racing without having to bear all the expenses, preparation and logistics alone.

Q: Why the Baja 250?
A:Even though it is a tough race, it is more suitable for first time racer because of its relatively short distance which narrow the possibility of being passed by trophy trucks also eliminate night riding.

Q: What kind of motorcycle will you race for the San Felipe 250?
A: During the race the team will use a 2006 Honda XR650R motorcycle.

Q: When is the race?
A: The race is held March 9-11, the actual race day is Saturday March 10, 2012.

Q: Do I have to bring my motorcycle to Baja?
A: We prefer if you practice your assigned part of the course (or the whole course for pleasure) on your motorcycle. However, we have 2 motorcycles available upon request.

Q: How many miles will I ride in the race?
A: Each racer will ride as little as 15 miles or as long as 80 miles, it all depends on your desire and ability.

Q: Can I pick which part of the course to ride during the race?
A: Yes! If the part you picked is not taken already by another rider. The earlier you join the team the greater chance you will have to pick the stage you want.

Q: How fast should I go?
A: As fast as you feel comfortable, in desert racing (slow is fast) you are racing against time. One fall will cost you a lot of that to get up and continue, if no damage has occurred to you or the bike. It would be great to win but our main goal is to reach the finish line within time limit, which is not easy but possible with sufficient training and planning.

Q: Do I need a motorcycle license?
A: No

Q: How many people will race?
A: As you will see in the map below, we divided the race course into 8 stages for 8 riders as an outline.

Q: Will there be pictures and video of me?
A: We will have pictures taken of the whole team and each rider. We will count on friends and team members to take pictures and video during the race.

Q: How long I have to stay in San Felipe?
A: The race boot camp will start March 1st until the end of the Race, you will be required to pre-run your assigned part of the race at least twice in the period before the race, once on your motorcycle and once on the Race motorcycle, so you need 2 or 3 days before the race at a minimum.

Q: Is the race course the same every year?
A: Yes and No - Score International (Race Organizer) sometimes make slight changes in the course, but it is the same loop in San Felipe desert.

Q: How long is the Race?
A: It usually runs 250 miles (400 KMS) plus or minus few miles.
